hello lovely people, how are we feeling on this final monday of january?
i recently came across the concept of luck surface area, which i believe originates from productivity bloggers who start sentences with phrases like ‘in order to amplify effective telling,’ but the idea has been stuck in my brain folds this week because, in an effort to escape winter doldrums, i’m trying to stretch that surface area out.
inserting myself into situations such that felicitous opportunities may be caught. making eye contact with other humans, and going to do things i think might be fun even if i’m not sure i have the energy, and pressing on the borders of my comfort zone just a tad.
i do think this time of year tends to beget positive change, so i’m choosing to trust the impulse.
what has the area of your surfaces been like lately? please reply and let me know.

this quick thriller had so much potential but was ultimately underwhelming
my enjoyment of dolly alderton’s swoony memoir, however, more than made up for my disappointment in the above
‘i am a just-pulled pint with a good, frothy head on it. i am my own universe; a galaxy; a solar system. i am the warm-up act, the main event, and the backing singers. and if this is it, if this is all there is — just me and the trees and the sky and the seas — i know now that that’s enough.’
this pretty necklace is on my wishlist

Thanx for doing what you Do!
Does the beans thing count if I do a similar thing in a pressure cooker, and didn’t have the effortlessly cool aesthetic and soft backing track? The premise is similar, and also can recommend doing it with a tomato base 🍅
